Hey! If you own a Samsung Blackjack 1 and on AT&T with phone insurance, then you can get a cheap upgrade to the BJ2.
Here is the deal. I owned a BJ1 (Blackjack 1) and it gave me too many problems. Here are some:
1 - the calendar could not make recurrent appointments, had to schedule each day day by day
2 - the D-pad moves too slow so it took forever to edit txt messages and emails (I mostly txt)
3 - intermittent loss of signal
4 - software bug where it dials but never connects
5 - keypad messes up when I type fast. To be fair, it is a very good keypad but it didn't last long.
6 - bluetooth is crippled
7 - phone has a bug where it would drain the battery if the keylock was activated by using top button
8 - no WM6.1 upgrade for the BJ1
I even replaced it once and the replacement gave me even more problems since it had on WM6.
Then I called Asurion at 18885628662, and bam! $50 upgrade to BJ2. The reason I will not be getting a BJ1 is that it has been "discontinued" they said. I'm not at all disappointed that it got discontinued since my BJ2 will arrive before the end of the week.

How to backup notes from Samsung Blackjack 1
*Note: This also works for Macs and Linux. I put special instructions at the end for people who also use Mac OS (all versions) and Linux (all distributions and versions that can work USB).
I put this on the internet in hope that I might help someone out there. If this post helped you then leave a comment for me, thanks. If you're a Samsung BlackJack user, then you might have already figured out that syncing the notes with the Notepadsync programs to MS Outlook does not work well and is not reliable. By the time you discovered that one little problem, you already have a collection of notes on your device. I had over 60 notes on my i607 when I decided I wanted to upgrade to WM6. Of course you have to backup your information, since the update process wipes clean your phone!
What are all those engineers at Microsoft and Samsung doing instead of fixing problems with WM and Vista? My guess is that their playing chess, eating donuts, and drinking expensive coffee, but not neccessarily in that order, while the world has to wrestle with bad software from Microsoft and the hardware that accompanies it.
I use Vista (Home Premium), unfortunately, so the option to install ActiveSync for use with Notepad sync was out the window. And the Notepadsync application is no longer available to be downloaded from the manufacturer, Samsung.
So how do you back up those notes and restore them? With these instructions you should at least be able to get your notes off of your mobile and onto your computer. And when you have your notes on your computer in the form of text files, the possibilities are endless. For example when you get them off your mobile, you can rename those files and organize them AGAIN with MS Office OneNote or get them imported via your note program of choice for your mobile.
Now this is necessary as I don't want to be sued by people claiming that I destroyed their phones. If this messes up your machine or cell phone, then it is 100% your responsibility. I am no expert. You do it all at your own risk. Here are the instructions:
1. Get the data cable that allows USB connectivity for the i607, Samsung BlackJack
2. Go to folder options and make hidden files visible. You may need administrator for that on some machines. This is so that you can view the hidden files on your device.
3. Connect it. Explore the device by going to this folder 'Computer\\[name of your smartphone]\\Documents and Settings\\Samsung' on the phones memory not your memory card.
At this point you will see many files. These are your notes; however, they are not properly labeled as the label is usually made by the words on the first line of your notes. These are text files. These files do not have file extensions, but you can still open any of these files in your favorite text editor for viewing. At this point do not rename these files! Move them to a folder on your Desktop named "preciousnotes" for now.

4. Do what ever you want with your mobile. Upgrade to WM6 or hardreset it. And then when your done, copy those same unedited files to the same folder you got them.
Voila! Instant gratification.

Now if you want to use those notes on your device with some other application that allows syncing, then just open such note program on the computer and copy paste information from the files you got off of your device. I use OneNote from the MS Office suite. This application comes with a small program that installs on your BlackJack I (i607).

Windows Vista breaking all of your favorite applications? Here is how to fix it.
STEP 1: Uninstall the application that is misbehaving, complaining to you about some random error, or an error that happens every time you do something.
STEP 2: Re-install that application by following these instructions -->
-Locate the setup file for the program, usually Setup.exe (or setup.exe).
-Right click the file in explorer, go to the compatibility tab, and change it's compatibility settings to work with Windows XP SP2.
-Double click the file to install like normal.
STEP 3: Locate the file that start the program. You can locate it in the Start Menu, or go digging in your C:\ drive to find it. For example, Gimp 2.4.4 (a free open source bitmap editor) will need this to work properly. Look for 'Gimp 2' in Start Menu or gimp.exe somewhere on your C:\ drive, right click, go to the compatibility tab, and run it with compatibility setting for Windows XP SP2.
From now on, everytime you start that program Vista will run it as a Windows XP program. So far I have not noticed any loss of capability, features, or performance with any programs.
STEP 4: Certain programs may still complain by sounding errors since it interacts with Vista's UAC in a bad way (my observation). Notepad++ was one such program. So you may choose to run that program as the Administrator. This also opens your system up to many more computer attacks, therefore you should be sure that the application you use is reputable by having frequent updates and you actually need that application to run as administrator.
Notes: This doesn't work for device drivers. You need Vista drivers for non-generic hardware to work with Vista properly, so you can't use Windows XP drivers on Vista - at least not yet!

Problem: Thunderbird keeps asking for password when it is saved. FIXED!
I'm just putting this up so that other people searching for a solution might get some pointers or have their problems fixed :)
The problem --> Thunderbird keeps asking for password even though it is correct.
I fixed this problem by altering my prefs.js file. I think 'prefs.js' got corrupted somehow and I had to repair a few lines manually. Here it goes....
Here are instructions on how to locate the said file: http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/profile#locate.
I merely changed the entry named "real user name" (user_pref("mail.server.server2.realuserName", "[actual-login-name-goeshere]"). It had the value of [login-name]@host.com, so I changed it to just [login-name]. And TB stop nagging me about inputting the proper password even though I had the proper password entered.
So, now I can check my Gmail like normal again.

Do you want a free gym membership for 3 months?
Gyms memberships are expensive these days right? The gym closest to my house charges $35 a month after a sign-up fee of $50. Well how would about having a "free gym membership" for three to 6 months?
It is very easy. Most gyms offer free trial periods lasting anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks. In some cities or within a radius of 15 miles there are many gyms. In my city (Melbourne, Florida) alone there are more than 20 gyms for me to choose from. So do the math one times 20 is 20. That means that I can get a free trial membership for about 20 weeks. That is nearly half a year of free gyms access, maybe more if you want to spend the extra gas money to drive 5 more miles. I use Google Maps to locate gyms near to my home.
Some gyms limit extent of the services that they offer in the trial period. For example you might not get access to the "executive pool" or the "VIP locker room". Personally, I would not care, because I got my sweat on for free.
No, you have not heard the best thing about this plan yet. The most beneficial outcome from sampling all these gyms is that you make an informed decision about what gyms is best for you. Enjoy!
